JAB Scores Hit On Broadway

Broadway Boxing Series Schedules Union Card

September 8, 2004

The Joint Association of Boxers (JAB) in conjunction with DiBella Entertainment today announced the fifth installment of the Broadway Boxing series to be held on September 30 at the Manhattan Center.

Boxing is the last major sport without a collective bargaining agreement. Boxers lack minimum standards, health insurance or retirement security. While other professional athletes are protected by unions, boxers still enter the ring unprotected. JAB's goal is to change this by providing physical and financial security for boxers.

DiBella Entertainment's Broadway Boxing Presented by Mohegan Sun has scheduled a full card of unionized boxers for its fifth installment. This outstanding card includes unbeaten junior middleweight Sechew Powell (13-0, 9 KOs), junior welterweight Edgar Santana (11-2, 7 KOs), cruiserweight Ehinomen "Hino" Ehikhamenor (6-0, 3 KOs) and super middleweight Jaidon Codrington (2-0, 2 KO’s).

Teamsters interested in purchasing tickets to the event should call Local 202 at 718-328-7000.
